** This is an evolving post. Please continue to check back for the most up to date information on how Balanced Stone Acupuncture and Wellness is handling this ever changing situation.
3/16/22 - Mask Update!
If you are fully vaccinated you are not required to wear a mask in the clinic
I will continue to wear a mask to ensure the comfort of all patients.
11/23/21 - Based on the new mandate in Jefferson County, masks must be worn indoors regardless of vaccination status until further notice.
Thank you for your understanding, masks will be available at the front desk
5/15/21 - Masks must still be worn by everyone for the time being, even if fully vaccinated.
I have not received clear and official guidance from the state or department of regulatory agencies on the mask order updates as they apply to limited healthcare settings.
In an effort to ensure that everyone feels comfortable and that the clinic policies are not rushed, I will still be requiring masks for everyone until further notice.
If your treatment requires the use of facial points or when you are face down on the treatment table, masks may be removed.
If you are fully vaccinated, please bring proof of vaccination to your visit, so that your chart is up to date.
You can read Gov. Polis' executive order here if you're interested.
As always, thank you for your patience and understanding!
11/9/20 - Reminders as we enter cold and flu season in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic:
Masks are still required at all appointments and must be worn for the entirety of your visit unless directed otherwise by me.
Temp checks will be performed upon arrival to the clinic.
Please clean your hands with the hand sanitizer provided at the clinic entry.
If you are ill, have any symptoms of respiratory illness, fever, new onset fatigue, new onset digestive symptoms, change in taste or smell, have had exposure to known or suspected Covid-19 cases, please call the office prior to your appointment time for additional screening
The Late Cancel/No Show fee will continue to be waived for all schedule changes due to Covid-19
Virtual visits and herb consultations with no contact pick up are still great options if you are unable to come to your appointment in person.
5/18/20 - In alignment with Colorado's Safer at Home guidelines, the clinic is open. For the most up to date availability please schedule your appointment online. For your reassurance, here is what I am doing to keep you and I both healthy and safe.
If you are ill, have symptoms of respiratory illness, fever, recent travel or recent exposure to confirmed or presumed positive Covid-19 cases, please contact the clinic prior to your appointment for additional screening and appointment rescheduling if necessary
Please wear a mask to your appointment, I will be wearing one as well.
Please arrive on time, not early and be prepared to use hand sanitizer and have your temperature checked upon entry to the clinic.
The rooms and reception area are fully disinfected between each patient with a time gap between appointments to let the room air out and so disinfection procedures are not rushed.
Cloth chairs have been replaced with vinyl folding chairs for easier disinfection.
Contactless payment is available upon request, please note, payment must be received within 24hours of receiving an invoice.
5/1/20 - After receiving another update stating that Jefferson County has permitted elective and non-essential medical visits, the clinic is open to existing patients by appointment only. New patient appointments will be available starting 5/11/20. Online booking for initial and follow up appointments will be available starting 5/11/20. The 24-hour cancelation fee will continue to be waived for Covid-19 related cancelations.
4/25/20 - Shortly after sending my last email with re-opening instructions, Jefferson and Denver Counties have extended their stay at home orders. This means that the clinic will not re-open to non-essential treatments until 5/8.
4/23/20 - Although the stay at home order for the state has been lifted, it is imperative that we proceed with caution. On 4/27, the clinic will be resuming in person treatments to those in need of care with social distancing and appropriate disinfection procedures in place. An email will be sent to all active patients with updated guidelines and clinic operations.
4/9/20 - Virtual Visit telemedicine sessions are now enabled for online booking. These visits can be used for all the health problems that still need to be addressed in spite of the stay at home orders. The visits include a review of your concerns and follow up from previous visits as well as at home acupressure protocols, herbal medicine consultation, guidance on self care, and nutrition recommendations. These services are available at $60 for new patients and $45 for existing patients and can be scheduled here.
4/8/20 - I miss you all so much! Ok, now that that's out of the way, here is the sad news... due to an extension of Gov Polis' executive order, the clinic will remain closed for in person treatments through 4/26. If your current appointment is affected by this extended closure, I will be in touch directly via phone, text or email to discuss your options and get your rescheduled. When the clinic re-opens, we will all need to participate in keeping each other safe and healthy, so please read below for re-opening procedures before your next appointment. Thank you all for your continued support and please reach out with any questions or concerns.
4/5/20 - First, let me just say, it will be wonderful to see you all in person again. The clinic is scheduled to re-open on 4/15 unless otherwise directed by the government. When the clinic re-opens there are a few things that we will all need to do to stay healthy and safe. Here is an outline of new clinic procedures that will allow for continued social distancing and the safety of each other and our community. In order to remain open, it will be important for everyone to participate.
1. If you have a fever, cough, shortness of breath or other symptoms of respiratory illness, please contact the clinic prior to your appointment to convert it to a virtual visit. You can reschedule your in person treatments when you are symptom-free.
If you arrive for your appointment early, please wait in your vehicle until your scheduled appointment time. Please do not bring anything extra into the clinic with you, just what you need.
Maintain social distancing when entering and exiting the clinic and office building.
When you arrive, please sanitize your hands and avoid using your cell phone when possible.
If you are more comfortable coming into the clinic with a mask on, please do and I can easily treat you with the mask in place. I will be wearing a mask for all treatments as well. If you would like to purchase something from the retail shelves, please ask and I can disinfect the bottle for you.
If you would like to purchase something from the retail shelves, please ask and I can disinfect the bottle for you.
If you prefer, I can email you a link for you to make your payment online, all payments MUST be received within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment time.
In addition to what is listed above, I am continuing with disinfection and sanitation of the clinic space with each patient and at the end of each day. As always sheets are changed between patients, the surfaces disinfected and any gua sha tools or cups used sterilized. I will be wearing a mask with all patient interaction and will continue to practice exemplary hand hygiene. My goal is that the clinic continues to be a place for those who need care to get well and feel safe and comfortable coming in for their necessary treatments
If you have any questions about these updates, please let me know!
Stay safe and healthy and I will see you all soon.
3/26/20 - Due to the directives of Gov Jared Polis, online booking will not be available until after 4/14. If your appointment is affected by the clinic closure, I will be in direct contact with you. If you need to schedule a virtual visit, please reach out via email, text or phone. I am available for in person visits on an emergent basis after comprehensive screening has been performed. In the event you feel you are developing or have developed the symptoms associated with Covid-19, please let me know. I can review your symptoms and prescribe herbal medicine formulas to help with treatment in the early stages of the disease.
3/20/20 - After much consideration, I have made the painful and difficult decision to cancel all in-person appointments until 4/1/20 and will be re-assessing the situation and making changes and updates as needed based on the guidelines set forth by the CDC, WHO, local government officials, American Society of Acupuncturists and the Acupuncture Association of Colorado. Although I feel that I can help support the health of my patients in this time of crisis, I need to close the clinic to encourage extreme distancing to prevent viral spread. I will be in touch with those that have scheduled appointments affected by the closure directly. If you are interested in setting up a virtual visit for guided acupressure and herbal medicine please contact me by email, balancedstoneacu@gmail.com or by text/phone 720-593-0423. I can't wait to see you all in the clinic again when I re-open.
3/16/20 - At this time, I have suspended online booking. If you would like to come in for an appointment or schedule a telehealth visit, please contact me by email or phone. For all patients that have existing appointments, I will be contacting you in advance for pre-screening. If you have any respiratory symptoms, fever, cough, shortness of breath, chills runny nose, congestion, etc, you will be asked to either convert your visit to a telehealth appointment or reschedule when you have been asymptomatic for a full 72 hours. If you have traveled or been exposed to anyone that has traveled in the past 14 days, you also be asked to convert your appointment to telehealth or reschedule after 14 days of remaining asymptomatic.
For those patients that are still coming in for their regularly scheduled appointment, if you arrive early, please wait in your vehicle until your scheduled appointment time. Please use hand sanitizer when you arrive and avoid the use of your cell phone while in the clinic. Please bring as few belonging with you and do not bring any guests. I will be spacing out appointments more and disinfecting all treatment spaces and the reception area between all patient visits. I may also be wearing a mask during your visit to ensure that I can safely continue to provide care.
3/13/20 - First, I want to say that this statement is intended to be reassuring, is not an effort to elicit panic, stress, or concern. Balanced Stone Acupuncture is taking every step possible to ensure your safety when you come into the clinic. The clinic will continue to be cleaned and disinfected using standard universal precautions and OSHA approved disinfectants. I will continue to exercise exemplary hand hygiene and I do have personal protective equipment available for use when appropriate. I am confident that my experience as a nurse and over 15 years of working in healthcare clinical settings has prepared me for this!
The clinic will continue to operate as usual and I encourage you to maintain your appointments. Acupuncture is great for enhancing immune function and helping to prepare your defensive mechanisms. I will gladly incorporate immune supporting acupuncture into your regular treatment plan. And don't forget, acupuncture is AMAZING and reducing stress and calming anxiety, so if you simply need a little rebalancing here, please come in. Please also take a look at this month's TCM Tip of the Month which includes some Chinese medicine advice for you on supporting your immune system.
I want to take this time to clarify the 24 hour cancelation policy. If you are feeling unwell, have an active fever, or have knowingly been exposed to coronavirus, I kindly request that you reschedule your appointment and will not be imposing the cancellation fee for these instances. Please contact me to let me know you need to cancel and get yourself rescheduled for an appointment when your illness has resolved. The 24 hour cancellation fee will remain in effect for all late cancellations or no shows unrelated to illness.
As a reminder, I do offer phone/video chat based herbal medicine consultation appointments. Herbal medicine can be helpful in supporting immune function. If you are interested in setting up an herbal medicine consultation, please let me know!
As always, I hope you stay well, live well and are thriving out there! Remain calm, get sleep and eat well. Your health is important to me and I want to do what I can to support that for you!
